The newsletter signup on the front page is the only thing this site asks you for. This notice is about what happens to what you type into it.

Subscribing stores your email address, the language you subscribed in, a random token and an internal identifier. The token is what the links in our emails carry, and it is what proves a link belongs to your address. Four dates are kept beside them: when you subscribed, when the last email went out, when you confirmed, and when you unsubscribed. Nothing else is stored with your subscription: no name, no IP address.

The address is used to write to you, and the language decides which language those emails are written in. It is used for nothing else. There is no edition yet, so the only email this site sends today is the one asking you to confirm your address.

Nobody else receives your address. It is not sold, not shared and not handed to another service. It leaves this server twice: to reach the mail server that delivers a message to you, and in the nightly backup of the database, which goes to private storage nobody else can read.

Every email we send carries a link that unsubscribes you in one click, with nothing to log into and nothing to confirm. Unsubscribing stops the mail for good: the address is marked as unsubscribed and nothing more is sent to it, and subscribing again from the front page will not restart it — which is also what stops anyone else restarting it for you. That does not erase the address, and nothing deletes old addresses on a schedule. To be put back on the list, or to have your address deleted, ask at the address below.

This site has no analytics and no advertising, it does not track you, and it writes no cookies.
